Sapkota Elected Chairperson of Stock Brokers’ Association of Nepal 

 

January 9: Dharmaraj Sapkota has been elected as chairperson of Stock Brokers’ Association of Nepal. 

In the election held on Saturday, Proprietor of Swarna Laxmi Securities, stock broker 37,  Sapkota was elected as the chair of the association. 

Sapkota defeated his rival Guna Nidhi Bhusal, proprietor of Aryatara Investment and Securities, stock broker  57 with a margin of 12 votes. Sapkota garnered 28 votes while his rival Bhusal received 16 votes.

Despite the fact that the poll was scheduled for Saturday, efforts were made to forge consensus throughout the day. After the consensus efforts failed, the election was held. 

Consensus was, however, forged for other positions except chairperson.  
Sarita Adhikari and Phadindra Bista were unanimously selected as Vice-chair and General Secretary of the association.

Similarly, Suyog Adhikari and Madan Poudel have been selected as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

The new working committee’s members include Priyansu Agrawal, Mitralal Shresth and Prajjwal Upreti. 
Earlier, Santosh Mainali had led the Stock Brokers’ Association of Nepal.
