November 8: Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel on Sunday held a discussion with private sector on the unannounced blockade and its consequences.

In the discussion, the office-bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Nepali Industries and Nepal Chamber of Commerce stressed that the Finance Ministry should take lead role in removing the unofficial blockade and enable an environment to resume industrial operation in the country.

The business and industry sector has seen a big loss due to strikes and shutdowns, they said, calling for government's seriousness in healing the private sector which witnessed a mammoth devastation.

Minister Poudel pledged to take initiative to address the problems facing the private sector in the country.

Among those present in the meeting were FNCCI Chairperson Pashupati Murarka and Vice-chairperson Bhawani Rana. RSS
