November 23: Sagarmatha Engineering College (SEC) and its sister concern, Sagarmatha College of Science And Technology, in collaboration with Zobfindr, recently organized an 'Internship and Placement Fair' on its college premises, Sanepa, Lalitpur.
According to the organizers, the event was organized targeting fresh graduates and 8th semester students of IT and Engineering field for internships and job placements.
Students of BE Civil, BE Computer, BE Electronics and Communication, and BSc CSIT from various colleges across the country got a chance for on-the-spot interview for internship and job in a single venue. The on-the-spot interview with the top IT and engineering companies of Nepal was the main highlight of the event, according to the organizers.
"The event was organized with an objective of helping students liaise with the industry and job market to make a smooth transition from college to corporate life. Overall, it was a win-win situation for both the companies and graduates. The feedbacks we received were excellent. We were requested to organize such event every year," a press statement issued by the organizers quoted Dakshina Shrestha, associate professor and head of Training and Placement Unit of the college as saying.
The event witnessed participation of around 700 students.
