Photo Exhibition on Lumbini in Myanmar 
A photo exhibition was organized in Shewdgon pagoda of Myanmar with the aim of introducing and promoting Lumbini in Myanmar. The 11-day photo exhibition was jointly inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Yangon U Myint Swe and Nepali Ambassador to Myanmar Paras Ghimire on 22nd January, 2014.
 
Myanmar, with more than 80 percent of its Buddhist population, enjoys a good relation with Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha.  “This exhibition has popularized Lumbini among Burmese people and further strengthened the tie between the two nations,” said Chief Minister Myint in his inaugural speech. 
 
Photos of Buddhist sites associated with the life of Buddha photographed by Nepali journalist Chetan Pant were displayed in the exhibition. Also, soil from Lumbini was demonstrated in a golden container in the exhibition. The exhibition was jointly organized by Nepali Embassy in Myanmar, Nepal Myanmar Friendship Council (NMFC), All Myanmar Gorkha Hindu Religious Association and Non Residential Nepali Association Myanmar.  
 
Hotel Annapurna and Dusit International Sign MOU 
Hotel Annapurna has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with leading Asian hospitality group Dusit International to bring the DusitThani brand to Kathmandu. The MOU was signed by Executive Director of Hotel Annapurna Shreejana Rana and Group Director Development of Dusit International Rustom Vickers in the presence of Thai Ambassador to Nepal Kanthong Unakul in an event at Hotel Annapurna on 8th January, 2015. 
 
The MOU will see Hotel Annapurna redeveloped and re-branded under the DusitThani brand. According to a press statement, The DusitThani Annapurna Hotel will be positioned to become an iconic local hotel of an international caliber, offering around 230 guest rooms, a variety of restaurants, recreational facilities and large banqueting spaces. 
 
Etihad Awarded by Global Traveler Magazine  
Etihad Airways is recognized as ‘2014 Airline of the Year’ by the readers of US based Global Traveler magazine. The award was presented at Global Traveler’s ‘11th Annual GT Tested Reader Survey Awards’ in December in California. The airline also took home the awards for ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’ and ‘Best Airport Staff/Gate Agents’. 
 
“It is an honour for Etihad Airways to be selected by the readers of Global Traveler magazine as this year’s Airline of the Year,” said James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways. “2014 has been a milestone year for Etihad Airways in the US with the addition of three new gateways, including Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles and San Francisco,” he added.
 
Schewzan and Hakka Cuisines at China Garden
Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza’s China Garden has started the promotion of Schewzan and Hakka cuisines. This food promotion showcases variety of Schewzan and Hakka menu choices for a four course meal experience.  
 
The newly introduced starters include Wine Marinated Hakka Chicken, Double Mushroom Skewers with Cilantro Burnt Chilly Sauce, Crispy Pepper Vegetable with Pickled Chilly Sauce, and Smoked Chilly Vegetable. Main course delicacies include Dragon Prawn with Szechwan Crab Meat Sauce, Balchao Fish Ginger Chilly Glazed, Jumbo Prawn Sichuan, Roast Pork with burnt chilli Sauce, Hoi Sin Hakka Duck, Hakka Steam Pork with Yam, Stir Fry Fresh Chilly Vegetables, Szechwan Tuna Fried Rice and Stir-Fried Soya Bean Sprouts among other delicacies. 
 
 Complementing the meals are chef’s special desserts like Steamed Semolina Pudding, Crispy Banana Rolls with Caramelized Cashew, Dates and Nuts Triangle Ginger Honey Sauce. 
 
Olive Garden’s Rainbow Trout Promotion
The Olive Garden at Hotel Radisson has started Rainbow Trout promotion. The restaurant will be serving steamed, grilled, pan fried or crust baked cold-water Rainbow Trout throughout February 2015. The restaurant has prepared an elaborate menu of trout recipes for the promotion. Fish lovers can choose from a selection of starters or main courses of trout prepared in different exquisite methods.
 
The trout delicacies can be enjoyed at the restaurant from 4 PM to 10:30 PM. Starters and main courses are priced at Rs 950 and Rs 1650 respectively, excluding the taxes.
