NEW APPOINTMENTS

Megha Chaudhary has been given responsibility as Managing Director of Pashupati Biscuits Industries Pvt. Ltd. Her father Basant Kumar Chaudhary has stepped down recently as Chairman and Managaing Director of many companies and organisations managed by BL Conglomerate, Nepal including BLC Instant Foods, Nepal Lun-Ganga National Academy, etc. The conglomerate boasts of numerous businesses under its banner in sectors like Health, Education, Art & Literature, FMCG, Flexible Packaging, Agro, Dairy, Entertainment & Hospitality, etc. 

Neurologist Dr. Niranjan Acharya, Neurosurgeon Dr. Paawan Bahadur Bhandari and Cardiologist Dr. Parag Karki have joined Norvic International Hospital, Thapathali as consultants. Earlier, Dr Acharya had also worked as consultant neurologist in Kist medical college. Dr Bhandari has over 14 years of experience in Neurosurgery. Dr Karki has worked in different hospitals including Bir Hospital and Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre in the recent past. 

Sanjeev Manandhar has been appointed as CEO Prime Commercial Bank after the completion of the tenure of former CEO Narayan Das Manandhar. Manandhar has 23 plus years of experience working with different BFIs while he has been associated with the Prime Bank for last 16 years. 

Ramhari Dahal has been reappointed as the CEO at Mero Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. for four years term. 

Bhuban Raj Joshi has joined Chaudhary Group, Sanepa as Corporate Human Resource Head. Earlier, he was VP HR at Sherpa Hospitality Group. 

Lilahang Yaksho has joined Park Village as F & B Manager. Earlier, he was Asst. F B Manager at Hotel Himalaya. 

Bhesh Raj Khatiwada has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Myanmar Citizens Bank Ltd, Yangon. Earlier, he was Assistant Chief Executive Officer at NIC ASIA Bank before going to join Myanmar Citizens Bank as Chief Operating Officer. 

Sachin Jung Rayamajhi has been appointed as Chief Risk Officer at TCF Limited, Papua New Guinea, the first domestic Commercial Bank in Papua New Guinea. Earlier, he was DCEO of Civil Bank Ltd. 

Hari Bahadur Thapa has been appointed as Special Editor of Barhakhari.com. Earlier, he was Founding Editor of Ekagaj.com. 

Sudarsan Pathak has joined Froxjob as Business Director. Earlier, he was the Head of Human Resources at IME Motors. 

Bodh Raj Lamsal has joined Hotel Central Plaza, Kohalpur as General Manager. Earlier, he was at the same position at Chitwan Midtown Resort. 

Madhav Raj Kafle has joined Nimbus as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Earlier, he was Head of Sales and Marketing at Worldlink Communications. 

Priyadarshi Roy has joined Dugar Spices and Food Products as CEO. Earlier, he was at Hilife Foods as Chief Business Officer. 

Swarnima Shrestha has joined WWF as a Regional Communications Specialist. Earlier, she was at Swisscontact as Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist. 

Prabhakar Khadka has joined Louis T Collection Pte Ltd. as Property Development and Marketing Head. Earlier, he was General Manager at The Nanee, a boutique hotel at Bhaktapur. 

Shashi Chandan Kumar Singh has joined CG Cements Industries Palpa Pvt. Ltd. as Procurement Manager. Earlier, he was at Shivam Cements Ltd. as Deputy Manager- Commercial. 

Sneha Singh Shakya has joined Saras Beverages as Human Resources Manager. Earlier, she was at CG Food Park, Lalitpur as Plant HR & Administration Head. 

Nabin Niraula has joined Subisu Cablenet as Head of Human Resources. Earlier, he was HR Head for the MD Vertical at CG Corp Global. 

Shuvam Dotel has been promoted to Chief Business Officer from Head of Business Development and New Product Development at City Express Money Transfer. 

RESIGNED 

Shrawan Maskay, Senior Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank has resigned from the bank citing domestic reasons. Maskey was the CEO of Bank of Kathmandu which was merged with Global IME Bank in January and was working as Sr DCEO of the bank. 

MOVEMENTS IN PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES 

Bijayman Nakarmi has been elected as the Chairman of Himalayan Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. representing Himalayan Bank Ltd. where he is Assistant Chief Executive Officer. 

Aayush Ojha has been elected as the Independent Director of Mero Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. 

Chandraman Malku has been elected as the Chairman of Narayani Development Bank Ltd. Earlier, he was Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank. Similarly, Pukar Thapa has been elected as Board member in the bank. 

Balram Prasad Gupta has been elected as the Chairman of the Janaki Finance Company Limited. 

GOVERNMENT MOVEMENTS 

Prof. Dr Subarna Lal Bajracharya, a retired professor from Tribhuvan University, has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University. 

Dr. Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra has been appointed as the Director General of Department of Health Services (DoHS). Mishra is Additional Health Secretary at Ministry of Health and Population Nepal. 

Kailash Kumar Paneru has been appointed as the General Manager of Nepal Aushadhi Limited. 

The Government has promoted Joint Secretary of Ministry of General Administration Dinesh Kumar Ghimire to Secretary. Ghimire was working as Consul General in Chengdu, China. 

The Government has changed the responsibilities of two secretaries and transferred them. Krishna Hari Pushkar, the Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has been transferred to the Prime Minister's Office. The responsibility of the Federal Affairs and General Administration Secretary has been handed to Binod Prakash Singh, who was secretary in the Prime Minister's Office. Secretary Singh, who has been transferred to Federal Affairs, has worked in dozens of offices including the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Industry. 

The government has appointed controversial former lawmaker Lharkyal Lama as the vice chairman of the Lumbini Development Fund. Lama has earlier been charged with several crimes, including foreign employment fraud, possession of illegal firearms, accumulating property disproportionate to his known source of income, and possession of dual citizenship and passport. Lama is a central committee member of the CPN (Maoist Centre). Lama, a former CPN-UML member, was the state minister for finance in the Jhala Nath Khanal-led government in 2011. 

Food technology expert and professor Dilip Subba has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). The highest institution of the science and technology field in the country, has got the Vice-Chancellor after seven months. The previous Vice-Chancellor, Sunil Babu Shrestha, had completed his four-year term and left NAST leadership vacant since mid-January 2023. 

Dilliram Pokhrel has been appointed Deputy Spokesperson and Information Officer of Nepal Rastra Bank with effect from August 2, 2023 replacing Narayan Prasad Pokhrel who has been transferred to Financial Intelligence Unit. Holder of PhD in Economics from Osaka Sangyo University, Japan, Dilliram has been working with the central bank since 2001. 

Dr Pawan Jung Rayamajhi has been appointed as the Medical Superintendent of Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj replacing Dr Badri Chapagain. Similarly, Dr Chuman Lal Das has been transferred from Health Ministry as Chief of Health Coordination Division at the hospital replacing Dr Yeshoda Aryal as she went for a study leave. 

Dr Saurabh Singh Hamal has joined Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj as DM, Nephrology. 

The government has transferred five Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), including key officers investigating the fake Bhutanese refugee scam. The home ministry transferred Dan Bahadur Karki, chief of the Police Range Kathmandu, Manoj KC, chief of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Office, Bhupendra Bahadur Khatri of Nepal Police Headquarters, Sanuram Bhattarai of the Directorate of Women, Children and Senior Citizens and Somendra Singh Rathaur of the National Security Council secretariat. Karki has been transferred to the secretariat of the police chief in the head office while KC has been sent to the directorate. Both of them were key officials investigating the fake Bhutanese refugee scam. Earlier, a Cabinet meeting had decided to transfer Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Shyam Gyawali, who led the investigation of the refugee scam. Now SSP Khatri has been deputed at District Police Range Kathmandu and Rathaur has been sent to Valley Crime Investigation Office. SSP Bhattarai and KC have been deputed at the National Security Council secretariat and at the Women, Children and Senior Citizen Directorate, respectively.
