Twenty-two Nepali entrepreneurs are set to participate in Ambiente 2025, scheduled to take place in Frankfurt, Germany, from February 7 to 11.
Ambiente, the flagship event of Messe Frankfurt, is a globally acclaimed trade fair for products in the living, giving and dining categories. The 2025 edition will feature entrepreneurs and business representatives from approximately 70 countries, including Nepal.
The fair operates as a B2B (business-to-business) event, where producers present their goods to wholesale buyers rather than selling directly to consumers. With around 5,000 stalls expected, Ambiente serves as a critical hub for global trade and networking opportunities.
Binod Malla, head of Messe Frankfurt Nepal, the official representative of Messe Frankfurt in the country, emphasized the fair’s importance in promoting Nepali exports. “Participating in prominent international trade fairs is essential to showcase products globally,” said Malla. “With wholesale buyers from 170 countries attending, Ambiente provides an excellent platform to introduce Nepali products, art, and culture to the global market.”
Nepali entrepreneurs will exhibit a diverse range of products, including home furniture, kitchenware, gift items, sculptures, carpets, pashminas, felt products, and other handcrafted goods. These products have historically gained significant interest at Ambiente, driving subsequent export demand.
Messe Frankfurt has hosted trade fairs in the city for over 800 years, and Nepali businesses have been attending Ambiente for more than four decades.
Malla also highlighted the need for government support, noting that countries like China and Bangladesh actively assist their entrepreneurs in participating in such global platforms. He urged the Nepali government to adopt similar initiatives to facilitate export growth.
Notably, this year’s Nepali delegation includes approximately 30 percent women entrepreneurs, reflecting growing diversity in the country’s business landscape.
