The subcommittee formed under the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the House of Representatives to investigate alleged irregularities in the construction of Pokhara International Airport submitted its report to the parliamentary committee on Monday, April 28.
At Shankar Hall in the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwor, subcommittee coordinator Rajendra Lingden handed over the report to Public Accounts Committee Chairperson Rishikesh Pokharel, according to Ekram Giri, Secretary of the Committee and spokesperson for the Parliament Secretariat.
The report concludes that billions of rupees were misused during the construction of the country’s third international airport.
Receiving the report, Chairperson Pokharel said it would be discussed at the committee’s next meeting.

The subcommittee was formed about a year ago under the leadership of lawmaker Lingden, who is also the President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), to investigate allegations of corruption and mismanagement at the airport.
According to Lingden, the subcommittee conducted field inspections, stakeholder interactions, discussions, and document reviews before preparing the 38-page report.
Members of the subcommittee included Members of Parliament Janardan Sharma, Gokul Prasad Baskota, Aman Lal Modi, Arjun Narasingha KC, Prem Bahadur Ale, Ram Krishna Yadav, Tara Lama, Dev Prasad Timilsina, Deepak Giri, and Rukmani Rana.
