Wicketkeeper-batsman Anil Kumar Sah emerged as the highest-paid player in Sunday's auction ahead of the inaugural Nepal Premier League (NPL). Sah was picked by Janakpur Bolts for Rs 1.5 million in the auction organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
Sah had set a minimum price of Rs 1 million for the auction, which rose to Rs 1.5 million after all eight teams showed interest in signing him. Consequently, Janakpur Bolts secured him through a lucky draw. Sah was the only cricketer sought by all eight teams.
In addition, left-arm spinner Sagar Dhakal also secured Rs 1.5 million, joining Pokhara Avengers, while Narayan Joshi was signed by the same team for Rs 1 million.
Pratish GC and Lokesh Bam were both sold to Biratnagar for Rs 1.5 million each, and Sudurpaschim Royals signed Arif Sheikh for the same amount.
Rijan Dhakal was picked up by Chitwan Rhinos for Rs 1 million, and Dipesh Kandel joined Kathmandu for Rs 500,000. -- RSS
