Indian electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy is set to launch its new electric scooter, Ather Rizta, in Nepal at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, scheduled from August 6-10 in Kathmandu.
Following the success of the Ather 450 series in Nepal, the company aims to expand electric mobility options for families.
The company claimed that Ather Rizta is designed with spacious seating and large storage, targeting family use and mixed urban-rural travel. It features advanced safety systems including traction control, skid control, disc brakes, and a durable chassis, reads a statement issued by the company.
“The scooter offers smart connectivity through a 7-inch TFT touchscreen with Google Maps navigation, Bluetooth music control, call management, and over-the-air software updates with Nepali language and local map support.”
The company claimed that over 100,000 units of the scooter were sold in India within its first year.
Local distributor Vaidya Energy Pvt. Ltd. said the model will bring new features tailored for Nepali roads and riders.
“We’re excited to introduce the Ather Rizta to Nepali families. This launch is more than just a new scooter — it’s a step towards making electric vehicles accessible and practical for everyday use across Nepal,” said Suryansh Vaidya, CEO of Vaidya Energy.
Key specifications include a 4.3 kW motor, a top speed suitable for city and open roads, and a long range of up to 159 km on a single charge (Z-variant), addressing range anxiety for intercity travel, the statement said, adding, “The battery is IP67-rated and comes with a 5-year warranty. Storage capacity is 34 liters under the seat, the largest in its class.”
Vaidya Energy plans to offer battery warranty options and attractive financing plans to promote electric vehicle adoption in Nepal. Bookings will open soon shortly after the event.
Ather Energy currently operates 8 Experience Centers, 1 Test Ride Zone, 6 Service Centers, and 21 Fast Charging stations across major cities in Nepal.
