Nepal suffered a nine-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in the final Super Four match in the ACC Women’s U-19 Asia Cup Cricket on Friday, December 20, at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia.
In a rain-disrupted match, reduced to 11 overs per side, Nepal was restricted to 54 runs at the loss of eight wickets, batting first after losing the toss.
Opener Sabitri Dhami scored 11 runs, the highest for Nepal, followed by captain Pooja Mahato with nine and Elisha Yadav with eight.
Bangladesh comfortably chased the target in 9.5 overs, losing just one wicket. Fahomida Choya top-scored with 26 runs, supported by Mosammat Eva (18 runs) and Sumaiya Akther Suborna (10 runs). Kusum Godar was Nepal's sole wicket-taker.
Earlier, Bangladesh bowlers Farjana Easmin, Anisa Akter Soba, Fahomida Choya, and Habiba Islam Pinky each claimed one wicket.
With this win, Bangladesh secured their place in the final, finishing the Super Four stage with six points. They will face India, who topped the standings with seven points.
Nepal had previously made history in the group stage with a landmark win over Pakistan, securing their spot in the Super Four.
