The BP Highway has reopened after remaining closed to traffic for 16 hours. The highway was blocked on Monday night after a flood in the Roshi River washed away a temporary diversion at Mamti, Roshi Rural Municipality-12, Kavrepalanchok.
Two-way vehicular movement resumed on Tuesday afternoon following repairs to the diversion, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale.
The road was reopened with support from the police and locals, under the coordination of the Road Division Office, Bhaktapur, said Chandra Bahadur Lama, an employee at the office.
A similar flood in the Roshi River from September 26 to 28 last year had damaged multiple sections of the highway. Since then, the Road Division Office has been operating traffic through temporary diversions along the riverside. -- RSS
