The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced cash prize of Rs 250,000 for each female cricket player who recently led Nepal to its first-ever qualification for the ICC U-19 World Cup. CAN spokesperson Chumbi Lama also confirmed that team officials will be awarded Rs 150,000 each.
Nepal made history by securing a spot in the U-19 World Cup after an impressive eight-wicket victory over the UAE in Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday. This win helped Nepal garner 10 points from six games, matching the UAE’s score but surpassing them due to a better net run rate, securing Nepal’s place in the World Cup.
The U-19 Cricket World Cup will be held in Malaysia in 2025.
In addition to the World Cup, Nepal has qualified for the U-19 Women's Asia Cup, organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and set to take place in December. Alongside Nepal, teams from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Malaysia will compete in the U-19 Asia Cup cricket tournament. -- RSS
