Authorities in Birgunj have imposed a curfew from 6:30 PM on Saturday, April 12, until 12:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, following violent unrest during a religious procession.
The disturbance erupted in the evening after stones were hurled at a Hanuman Jayanti procession, leading to injuries among both participants and security personnel.
The District Administration Office, Parsa, issued the curfew order, prohibiting all movement, public gatherings, rallies, and assemblies within the designated zone stretching from Bhediyahi in the east, Sirsiya in the west, Gandak Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
