Deepak Raj Joshi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
The meeting of NTB’s Board of Directors on Thursday (September 5) selected Joshi to lead the country’s tourism promotional body for the next four years, Nandini Lahe Thapa, senior director and spokesperson at the board, told Rastriya Samachar Samiti, the state-owned news agency.
This is the second time that Joshi has been appointed to lead the board. Previously, he had served in the same position from 2015 to 2020.
The selection committee had shortlisted three candidates – Joshi, former CEO Dhananjaya Regmi and Gyaneshwar Singh Mahato – for the final selection.
Talking briefly to RSS following his appointment, CEO Joshi said that it was both a challenge and an opportunity for him to exhibit results in the midst of adverse conditions, resource crunch and high expectations.
