The government has categorised the disaster-hit local levels in three groups on the basis of the severity of damage for better facilitation in distributing the monetary relief.
They have been categorised as the most affected, affected, and moderately affected.
Floods and landslides triggered by incessant rain for three days in the last week of September has taken a huge toll on human life, property and physical infrastructures.
A total of 71 local levels from 20 districts have been declared as crisis-hit zones.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday, October 18, decided to provide Rs 10 million each to the most affected local levels, Rs 7.5 million to the affected ones and Rs 5 million to the moderately affected local levels, according to Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.
As per the decision, Roshi, Temal and Bethanchowk rural municipalities as well as Panauti and Namobuddha municipalities of Kavrepalanchowk district; Mahankal, Konjyosom and Bagmati rural municipalities as well as Godavari Municipality of Lalitpur have been declared the most affected areas.
Similarly, Phidim Rural Municipality of Panchthar; Dhunibesi Municipality of Dhading; Mandandeupur Municipality, and Bhumlu, Chauri Deurali, Khanikhola and Mahabharat rural municipalities of Kavrepalanchowk; Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchowk; Golonjar and Sunkoshi rural municipalities of Sindhuli; Indrasarowar Rural Municipality of Makawanpur; and Belaka Municipality of Udayapur have been categorised as the affected local levels. Each of these local levels will get Rs 7.5 million in monetary relief.
Likewise, moderately affected local levels include Sandakpur Rural Municipality of Ilam; Champadevi, Sunkoshi and Manebhanjyang rural municipalities of Okhaldhunga; Halesi Tuwachung Municipality and Khotehang and Jantedhunga rural municipalities of Khotang; Panchkhal Municipality of Kavrepalanchowk; Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, Madi Municipality and Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan; and Bigu and Shailung rural municipalities and Gaurishankar Rural Municipality of Dolakha; Benighat Rorang, Betrawati Dobjyang, Gajuri and Khaniyabas rural municipalities of Dhading; Phalgunanand and Phalelung rural municipalities of Panchthar; Bhimphedi and Bakaiya rural municipalities of Makawanpur; Bardibas and Gaushala municipalities of Mahottari; Ramechhap and Manthali municipalities, and Doramba Shailung, Khandadevi, Gokulganga, Umakunda, Likhu Tamakoshi and Sunapathi rural municipalities of Ramechhap.
Rajpur, Gadhimai, Parora and Rajdevi municipalities as well as Durgabhagawati rural municipality of Rautahat; Belan Kebul Rural Municipality and Balara Municipality of Saptari; Bagmati Municipality of Sarlahi district; Jugal, Balephi and Panchpokhari Thangpal rural municipalities, and Barhabise Municipality of Sindhupalchowk; Phikkal and Hariharpur Gadhi rural municipalities of Sindhuli; Lahan Municipality of Siraha; Khumbu Pasanglhamu and Mapya Dudhkoshi rural municipalities, and Solu Dudhkunda Municipality of Solukhumbu are also in the list of moderately affected local levels.
Each moderately affected local level will get Rs 5 million in monetary relief.
