Simkot Airport in Humla, a remote mountainous district with no road connection to the national network, saw flights resume after a three-day break. The airport had been inactive due to the lack of passengers, particularly during the major days of the Dashain festival.
On Monday, Tara Air and Nepal Airlines operated flights, with Tara Air conducting one flight and Nepal Airlines completing two. In addition to passengers, the flights carried daily goods and construction materials.
Chhiring Lama, chief of the Simkot Station, mentioned that all tickets for Tuesday have already been booked, and the number of passengers is expected to increase gradually.
"More people are leaving Humla than entering the district," Lama added.
The Simkot Airport Office also noted that Sita Air and Summit Air did not operate any flights on Monday. -- RSS
