The weather will remain partly cloudy in the hill areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces today, Sunday, while the rest of the country will have clear skies, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The Weather Forecasting Division attributed this to the influence of the westerly winds.

Fog and mist are expected in many parts of the Tarai, the department stated in its weather bulletin. By the afternoon, the hill areas of Koshi Province will see partly cloudy conditions, while other provinces will have mostly clear weather.

The department has advised the public to take necessary precautions, as fog and mist may continue in some parts of the Tarai and valleys over the next 24 hours. These conditions could impact daily life, agriculture, health, and road and air transport.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar had recently stated that foggy weather in the Tarai region, which lasted throughout the past week, will disappear gradually.    

The temperature has also started to gradually increase in the Kathmandu Valley, the department stated. -- RSS
