The foundation stone for the cable car project to reach the famous religious pilgrimage site, Pathibhara Temple in Taplejung, was laid on Friday, November 8.
Constituent Assembly member Dambar Dhwaj Tumbahamphe and the Mayor of Phungling Municipality, Amir Maden, jointly performed a prayer at the starting point of the cable car service at Kaphlepati, before laying the foundation stone.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from political parties and a significant number of local residents, according to Indra Kadem, the head of Himalaya Construction, which has undertaken the task of building the cable car service.
Mayor Maden emphasised that the Pathibhara cable car project would be a cornerstone in the economic, social, and cultural development of Taplejung district as well as the Koshi Province.
Similarly, Rudra Poudel, a board member of the cable car company, informed that the trees in the construction area have already been cleared.
The cable car service will be operational within 15 months, Poudel added.
