Gandaki Province is expected to record the highest economic growth among Nepal’s seven provinces in the current fiscal year (2024/25), with its gross domestic product (GDP) projected to rise by 5.51% at consumer prices, according to preliminary estimates released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Monday, May 26.
Bagamati Province follows closely with an anticipated growth rate of 5.18%.
At the lower end of the growth spectrum, Sudurpaschim Province is projected to see the smallest economic expansion, with a growth rate of just 3.32%.

The NSO earlier projected Nepal’s national GDP to grow by 4.61% this fiscal year, bringing the total economic output to Rs 6,107 billion by the end of FY 2024/25—an increase from Rs 5,704 billion in FY 2023/24.
Provinces expected to outpace the national growth average include Gandaki, Bagamati, Karnali, and Lumbini.
