February 15: Gionee has slashed the price of Gionee M5 lite in Nepal from Rs 19,999 to Rs 17,999. Issuing a press statement, the company said Gionee decided to drop the market rate of the phone on the occasion of Valentine's Day given that the demands for the Gionee phones are increasing in the Nepali Market.
"Gionee's mission in the budget smart phone segment has been all about delivering the best battery life possible. Its Marathon series really took off after the company launched the M5lite," reads the statement.
According to the statement, it is powered by a 4000mAh battery, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM (expandable via microSD to 128GB). The M5 lite runs on Amigo 3.1, Gionee's own software based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. M5 lite is also able to charge 2 other devices simultaneously through reverse-OTG charging. The phone is available in "champagne golden" color.
