For the second consecutive day, gold price in Nepal soared to an all-time high, with fine gold reaching Rs 177,900 per tola (11.66 grams) on Monday, March 31, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.
This latest surge marks an increase of Rs 1,100 from the previous day's rate of Rs 176,800 per tola. The precious metal has experienced a steady climb throughout March, with notable milestones including Rs 176,200 per tola on March 28—surpassing the prior record—and earlier jumps from Rs 174,500 on March 14 to Rs 175,200 on March 18.
The sharp rise in gold prices reflects global economic trends, including the strengthening of the US dollar and geopolitical developments, which continue to drive fluctuations in the bullion market.
Silver prices also registered a modest uptick on Monday, increasing by Rs 10 per tola to reach Rs 2,035.
