The Government of Nepal has strongly condemned Tuesday’s terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people and left 10 others injured.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift and full recovery to those injured. "Nepal stands in steadfast solidarity with the Government and people of India in this time of sorrow," the statement read.
Reiterating Nepal’s firm stance against terrorism, the Ministry said, "Nepal condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and believes that such heinous acts cannot and should not be justified on any ground."
Meanwhile, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba expressed shock and grief over the incident. Posting on social media platform X, she wrote, "We strongly condemn this act of terrorism and the senseless violence that has claimed innocent lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."
She further stated that the government is verifying reports regarding the possible loss of any Nepali nationals in the attack. “Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” she added. -- RSS
