The government collected Rs 4.12 billion in revenue from the real estate sector in the month of Falgun (mid-February to mid-March), according to the Department of Land Management and Archives. This marks an increase compared to the previous month, Magh (mid-January to mid-February).
Revenue collection has increased as real estate transactions have gradually returned to normalcy.
During the review month, the government generated Rs 288 million from service tax, Rs 2.20 billion from registration fees, and Rs 1.57 billion from capital gains tax.
Month-wise, the government collected Rs 3.83 billion in Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August), the first month of the current fiscal year, followed by Rs 3.9 billion in Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September), and Rs 3.8 billion in Asoj (mid-September to mid-October). Revenue dropped to Rs 2.70 billion in Kartik (mid-October to mid-November) but rebounded to Rs 3.87 billion in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December) and further increased to Rs 4.25 billion in Poush (mid-December to mid-January). In Magh (mid-January to mid-February), the collection stood at Rs 3.87 billion.
Among land revenue offices, the Lagankhel office in Lalitpur district recorded the highest collection in the review month, generating Rs 380.2 million, the department reported. -- RSS
