The Transport Management Office in Hetauda has collected over Rs 290 million in revenue during the first six months of the current fiscal year (2024/25).
According to Office Chief Prabin Shrestha, the revenue was primarily generated from vehicle registrations, renewals, and the issuance of driving licenses. Of the total collection, Rs 173.8 million came from driving license distribution, Rs 45.36 million from vehicle tax, and Rs 45.6 million from income in the transport sector.
During this period, the office registered 1,280 motorcycles, 513 small vehicles, 337 three-wheeler tempos and e-rickshaws, 321 medium and large vehicles, and five tractors.
Additionally, 3,611 licenses were issued, including 2,163 new ones, while 2,984 licenses were renewed.
In the previous fiscal year, the office had collected a total of Rs 560.7 million under various categories.
