Japan’s private healthcare sector is set to recruit 20,000 Nepali workers as caregivers.
Organising a press conference in Kathmandu on Monday, representatives of Nepali and Japanese companies announced the signing of the ‘Nepal-Japan Service Exchange Program’ to facilitate the recruitment process.
Representatives from Japan’s Genkou Research Institute, Kozai Koson Corporation, Progressive Staff Service (PSS) Agency, and Nepal’s Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences, Sun and Company Pvt. Ltd., and Sandipani Group of Companies signed the agreement.
According to Naresh Ojha, executive director of Sandipani Group of Companies, individuals aged 18 to 45 will be eligible for employment under this program. Nepalis who pass the basic Japanese language test and the prescribed skills test can apply for caregiver positions in Japan.
PSS Executive Director Chizo Masuda stated that candidates who meet the requirements will be selected through an interview conducted by a Japanese company.
Those recruited as caregivers in Japan will earn up to 200,000 Japanese yen per month and will be employed under contracts ranging from three to five years. -- RSS
