Bhadrapur, August 15: The district administration office in Jhapa has reported a significant rise in passport issuances compared to citizenship certificates.
In the fiscal year 2023/24, the office issued passports to 25,455 individuals, while only 18,822 people received citizenship certificates. This surge in passport issuance reflects a growing demand for international travel and opportunities.
During the same period, Rs 147.37 million was deposited into the state fund for passports, with the district administration office collecting Rs 153.04 million from passport fees and related services.
Additionally, the district administration office's expenditure for the year totaled Rs 38.6 million, covering both current and capital expenses. --RSS
