The 13-kilometer road from Jomsom to Kagbeni under the Kaligandaki Corridor, a national pride project, has been blacktopped. The road section has been widened to 11 meters. A contract was signed to blacktop the Jomsom-Kagbeni section at a cost of Rs 281.4 million. Information Officer of Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project, Bishnu Chapagain confirmed that the blacktopping task has been completed. Of the 110-kilometer road from Jomsom to Korala check point, 75 kilometers of road has been expanded and gravelled. Likewise, ninety-two per cent construction along 25-kilometer Charang-Chhoser section has been completed. Project Chief Dhurba Kumar Jha shared that road from Jomsom to Korala would be gravelled after completion of the upgrading task of Charang-Chhoser section. -- RSS
