Journalists across the country staged rallies and sit-ins Saturday, demanding a thorough investigation into the death of journalist Suresh Rajak and swift action against those responsible.
Rajak, a cameraperson for Avenues Television, lost his life on Friday when a building he was inside, covering pro-monarchy demonstrations in Tinkune, was set on fire.

Paying tribute to Rajak, the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) called for justice and urged authorities to provide compensation to his bereaved family.
In Ramechhap, journalists staged a sit-in at Devkota Chowk in Manthali as part of a memorial and protest assembly, condemning the killing of Rajak and the attacks on media houses, including arson and vandalism.
Similar protests were held in Chitwan, Kavre, Kaski and Birgunj, among other districts.
