The Jyoti Group, one of Nepal’s oldest business houses, has officially split following prolonged family disputes. On Sunday, December 15, Padma Jyoti announced the formation of a new group, marking the division of the family-owned enterprise.
The rift between Padma Jyoti and his younger brother, Roop Jyoti, escalated earlier this year over unresolved issues related to property rights and financial obligations. Despite a partition deed signed over four decades ago, disagreements over the ownership of certain assets persisted, eventually leading to legal battles.

The Jyoti Group, established in the 1940s by Maniharsha Jyoti, has ventured into a wide range of sectors, including trading, manufacturing, FMCG, finance, and hospitality.
