West Indies' legendry cricketer Brian Lara arrived in Kathmandu on Friday morning.
Office-bearers of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) welcomed cricketer Lara at Tribhuvan International Airport. He arrived in Nepal at the invitation of CAN to watch the ongoing first edition of Nepal Premier League currently underway in Kathmandu.
Lara, who is a former Captain of West Indies, will watch some matches of NPL and interact with players. Cricketer Lara represented the national team of West Indies from 1990-2007 and played 131 Test matches.
He scored 11,953 runs in 131 matches and holds the record of 34 centuries and 48 half-centuries in Test matches.
Legendary cricketer Lara holds the world record of hitting 400 runs in one match in Test cricket. He had scored 400 runs (not out) in a Test match against England held in April 12, 2004.
Similarly, he has played 299 one-day matches for West Indies. -- RSS
