The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has postponed its protest plan, which was set to begin on Thursday, following an agreement with Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) officials.
The decision came after a meeting between NOC board members, staff, and the association’s representatives to address their demands. Minister for Industry and Supplies Damodar Bhandari had urged both parties to engage in dialogue, assuring that the association’s genuine concerns would be addressed.
The association had launched the protest demanding price adjustments and other changes, which it claimed had been pending for six years.
Earlier, the ministry had formed a committee led by Rajan Poudel, director general of the Department of Commerce, Supplies, and Consumer Protection, to study the issue.
According to NOC Spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur, the protest has been deferred for 15 days as further time is needed to review the committee’s report. -- RSS
