Ncell Foundation has called for applications for ‘19 for 19’ grant, as part of its social initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the grassroots level.
This initiative, launched marking Ncell’s 19th anniversary, invites eligible organisations to apply for grants aimed at supporting community level projects that create meaningful and sustainable impact, the telecom service provider said in a statement.
“Building on the success of last year’s ‘18 for 18’ project, initiated on the occasion of Ncell's 18th year of operations in Nepal, this year’s grant reaffirms Ncell Foundation’s dedication to serving underserved communities,” reads the statement.
The focus areas include health, education, environment, disaster preparedness and response and livelihood support among others.
The ‘19 for 19’ grant will provide financial support to 19 projects across all seven provinces, with each project receiving Rs 1 million and total commitment for this project from Ncell Foundation is more than Rs 19 million, Ncell said. The grant is open to not-for-profit organisations working to address critical challenges at community level.
“At Ncell Foundation, we believe in the power of community-driven change. We encourage those who are working at the community level to apply for this project,” said Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Ncell. “Through ‘19 for 19’, we are proud to continue giving back to the communities and people who have been with us for nearly two decades. This will empower grassroot projects to create meaningful transformations where it is needed most.”
This year, ‘19 for 19’ grant aims to further strengthen that legacy by empowering even more local projects supporting development aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in line with Ncell Foundation’s vision for a better, more sustainable future, the statement reads.
Ncell said that eligible and interested organisations can apply for the grant by visiting the Ncell Foundation website (https://www.ncell.com.np/en/foundation) and clicking on ‘Apply for Grant’.
