The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the 8 MW Tandi Ghyangphedi Hydropower Project, promoted by the ABP Energy Pvt Ltd, was completed on Monday (September 2).
Representatives from the Nepal Electricity Authority, the state-owned power utility, and ABP Energy signed the PPA.
The directors of the project include Balram Khatiwada, general secretary of IPPAN, and information technology expert Asghar Ali, informed Purnalal Shrestha, the company's president.
The project will be constructed at Tandi in Dupcheswar Rural Municipality of Nuwakot district.
Detailed study report (DPR) of the project was prepared around a year-and-a-half ago.
A 2,281.36-metre long headrace pipe will be laid and a 1,632.08-metre long penstock pipe constructed for the hydro project whose gross head will be 446-metre high.
The estimated cost of this hydroelectric project is Rs 205 million. Construction work is expected to begin later this year on October 29, targeting commercial production by May 2084.
Electricity generated will be transmitted to Samundratar substation by constructing a 10-km long 33 kV single circuit transmission line.
