Nepal defeated Thailand by 106 runs in the ICC U-19 Women's T-20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is the second match under the qualifiers that Nepal defeated Thailand. Earlier, Nepal had defeated the same opponents by
by 67 runs.
In its fourth match during the qualifiers on Sunday, Nepal opted to bat first after winning toss and posted 139 runs at the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Thailand managed just 33 runs in 16 overs losing all wickets.
Nepal's cricketers Sana Prabin top-scored with 53 runs while Sabitri Dhami contributed 28 runs and Soni Pakhrin made 19 runs.
Earlier in the second match, Nepal defeated Kuwait by 108 runs but lost to the UAE by 13 runs in third match held on Saturday.
Nepal, along with the hosts UAE, Kuwait and Thailand, are competing the qualifiers for a place in the age-group world cup. Each team will play two games against each other. The top ranked team among the four teams will qualify for the ICC U-19 Women's T20 World Cup to be held in Malaysia in January, 2025.
Nepal will play its fifth match against Kuwait on Tuesday. --RSS
