The USA defeated Nepal by 37 runs in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tournament in Dallas, US, on Saturday, November 2.
In the match held at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, Dallas, Nepal had elected to bowl first after winning the toss. Batting first, the USA set Nepal the target of 282 runs.
For the host, Saiteja Mukkamalla scored 75 runs in 87 balls while Captain Monak Patel made 67 in 81 balls.
Gulshan Jha took 3 wickets, but went expensive, giving away 87 runs in his full quota of 10 overs.
While Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami took 2 wickets each, Kushal Bhutel claimed one.
In reply, Nepal were bowled out for 244 runs in 49.5 overs.
Opener Anil Shah was the highest scorer with 52 runs in 80 balls followed by Sompal Kami who made 46 runs in just 27 balls.
Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee scored 33 and 31 runs respectively, while Kushal Bhurtel made 29.
Saurabh Netravalkar took 4 wickets for the hosts, giving away 47 runs in 9.5 overs, and became the player of the match. Shadley van Shalkwyk and Nosthush Kenjige took 2 wickets each.
In the series also involving Scotland, Nepal has so far lost twice and won once.
The Rhinos defeated Scotland by 5 wickets in the second match after losing to the USA by 3 wickets in the first.
With 5 points from 11 matches, Nepal continues to languish in the 7th position in the points table.
While the host remains at the top of the table with 16 points from 12 matches, Scotland is placed third with 13 points from 10 matches.
Nepal will next face Scotland in the same venue on Monday morning, local time.
