The NEPSE index closed in green on Sunday, October 6, the first trading day of the week.
The index, which had dropped by 26.07 points on the previous trading day, ( last Wednesday), saw a rise of 56.09 points, or 2.15 percent, reaching 2,653.58 points.
However, the turnover amount decreased to Rs 6.14 billion, compared to Rs 6.78 billion last Wednesday.
Over 15 million shares were traded in the Sunday’ trading session in 69,860 transactions.
All major indices ended in green, with the Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices up by 2.08 percent, 2.22 percent, and 2.28 percent, respectively.
Nyadi Hydropower Limited (NYADI) was the top gainer of the day, with its share price hitting the upper circuit limit. It was closely followed by Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company Limited (MBJC), which rose by 9.76 percent.
On the contrary, Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) became the biggest loser, hitting the lower circuit limit.
In terms of turnover, Sahas Urja Limited (SAHAS) led the list, followed by NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN).
Sector-wise, all subindices ended in green. The Finance Index led with a sharp increase of 6.30 percent, while the Mutual Fund Index recorded the smallest gain at 0.18 percent.
