The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped 0.42 percent (11.64 points) on Thursday, February 6, closing at 2,699.81, marking three consecutive days of losses.
The index had dropped 0.16 percent on Wednesday and 0.51 percent on Tuesday.
However, daily turnover surged, totaling over Rs 9.24 billion. It had exceeded Rs 8.95 billion the previous day.
A total of 18,680,392 shares changed hands through 92,326 transactions.
All major indices ended the day in the red. The Sensitive Index declined by 0.34 percent, while the Float Index and the Sensitive Float Index slipped by 0.43 percent and 0.36 percent, respectively.
Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company Limited (ULHC) became the top gainer of the day, hitting the upper circuit limit.
Conversely, Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) and Corporate Development Bank Limited (CORBL) hit the lower circuit limit to become the day's biggest losers.
In terms of turnover, Sahas Urja Limited (SAHAS) led the market, followed by Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) and Barun Hydropower Co. Ltd. (BARUN).
Of the 13 NEPSE sub-indices, only the Finance Index ended the day in the green, increasing 1.58 percent. The Development Bank Index suffered the biggest decline of 1.53 percent.
