NEPSE Falls Below 2,600-Point Mark with a 0.59% Decline

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined 0.59% (or 15.54 points) on Monday, January 13, closing at 2,594.13.  

This drop follows a 25.41-point loss on Sunday and an 18.14-point decline last Thursday, after six consecutive days of gains. The index had managed to gain 48.99 points last week, recovering the previous week's 36.88-point drop.  

On the second trading day of this week, daily turnover surged significantly, crossing Rs 6.65 billion, compared to Rs 3.97 billion the previous day. 

A total of 13,870,579 shares were traded through 64,278 transactions.  

All major indices recorded losses: Sensitive Index by 0.57%, Float Index by 0.55% and the Sensitive Float Index by 0.48%.  

Barahi Hydropower Public Limited (BHPL) was the day's top gainer, hitting the upper circuit limit.  

Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ANLB) and Sindhu Bikash Bank Ltd (SINDU) hit the lower circuit limit, becoming the biggest losers.  

NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led in turnover, followed by Nyadi Hydropower Limited (NYADI) and Himalayan Power Partner Ltd. (HPPL).  

All 13 NEPSE sub-indices ended in the red, with the Trading Index recording the steepest decline of 1.89%.
