The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged by 44.45 points, or 1.80 percent, on Monday, September 30, closing at 2,508.86 points.
Despite the rise, the total turnover for the day dropped to Rs 3.71 billion, down from Rs 4.05 billion on Sunday, the previous trading session.
During the second trading session of this week, over 9 million shares were exchanged through 50,680 transactions.
The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices recorded a gain of 1.44, 1.65, and 1.52 percent, respectively.
CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) became the top gainer of the day, with its share price hitting the upper circuit limit. It was closely followed by Kumari Sabal Yojana (KSY), which saw a rise of 9.98 percent.
On the other hand, Prabhu Select Fund (PSF) was the day's biggest loser, nearly hitting the lower circuit limit.
In terms of turnover, CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) topped the list, followed by Sarbottam Cement Limited (SARBTM).
Sector-wise, only the Mutual Fund Index experienced a drop of 0.6 percent, whereas the Finance Index showed the largest increase of 4.19 percent.
