The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) dipped marginally by 0.33 points on Wednesday, June 25, closing at 2,600.20. This 0.01% decline marked the third consecutive session the benchmark index hovered around the 2,600 level.
Turnover increased slightly to Rs 5.94 billion from Rs 5.76 billion on Tuesday, despite a decrease in total trade and volume. Over 13.75 million shares were traded across 61,824 transactions, compared with 13.81 million shares and 62,755 trades on Tuesday.
Among key indices, the Sensitive Index slipped 0.01%, while the Float Index edged up 0.03%. The Sensitive Float Index remained unchanged.
Out of 247 companies traded, 112 advanced, 134 declined, and one remained unchanged.
Modi Energy Limited (MEL) led the gainers with a 9.99% jump to Rs 331.50 per share, followed by Terhathum Power Company Limited (TPC), which rose 9.77% to Rs 404.44.
Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd (JOSHI) was the top loser of the day, dropping 9.51% to Rs 362.92. Himalayan Power Partner Ltd (HPPL), one of Tuesday’s top gainers, fell 9.02% to Rs 550.03.
Butwal Power Company Limited (BPCL) recorded the highest turnover for the second consecutive day, with Rs 539.46 million in trades. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) and Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd (RADHI) followed, with turnovers of Rs 361.66 million and Rs 248.94 million, respectively. RADHI’s turnover declined from Tuesday’s Rs 239.62 million and was significantly lower than Monday’s over Rs 521 million.
Among 13 sector indices, six closed in positive territory. The Hotel and Tourism Index posted the highest gain, rising 1.43%, while the Trading Index suffered the biggest loss, dropping 1.07%.
NEPSE’s total market capitalization fell slightly to Rs 4,332.30 billion from Rs 4,332.86 billion the previous day.
