The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) surpassed 3,000 points, increasing by 43.05 points, or 1.45%, to close at 3,000.81 points on the final trading day of the week (Thursday).
The day's trading activity saw a record turnover of Rs 29.95 billion, surpassing the previous high of Rs 27.24 billion recorded on Monday. The session was bustling with 334 stocks involved in 311,536 transactions, bringing the market capitalization to Rs 4.69 trillion, with a total of 68,980,346 shares changing hands.
Among the 243 companies listed, 105 saw an increase in their values, 137 experienced a decline, and one remained unchanged. Based on transaction amounts, the top performers were Himalayan Reinsurance,Sanima Mai Hydropower Limited (SMHL), Api Power Company Ltd. (API), Kumari Bank, and Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA).
The Sensitive Index rose by 3.08%, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index increased by 1.98% and 3.78%, respectively.
