The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a negligible decline of 0.21 points to close at 2677.4 points on Tuesday, November 5, the first trading day after the Tihar holidays.
In the last trading session on Wednesday, October 30, it had fallen by 14.43 points and closed at 2677.62 points.
Daily turnover on Tuesday stood at around Rs 4.2 billion, compared to Rs 5.95 billion last Wednesday.
Over 9.7 million shares traded across 47,515 transactions in Tuesday’s trading session.
The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices closed in the red, dropping by 0.17 percent, 0.05 percent, and 0.26 percent, respectively.
Super Mai Hydropower Limited (SMH) became the top gainer of the day by hitting the upper circuit limit. Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SAMAJ) and United Modi Hydropower Ltd. (UMHL)
followed them closely, gaining 9.95 percent and 9.91 percent, respectively.
Conversely, Mid Solu Hydropower Limited (MSHL) hit the negative circuit limit to become the biggest loser.
On the turnover front, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the pack, followed by Sanima GIC Insurance Limited (SGIC) and NLG Insurance Company Ltd. (NLG).
Of the 13 sub-indices, seven ended in green, and the rest in red. While the Non Life Insurance index surged the highest by 1.06 percent, the Banking Subindex saw the steepest decline of 0.81 percent.
