The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a drop of 22.36 points, or 0.89 percent, on Sunday, September 29, to close at 2,464.40 points.
The turnover amount also decreased on the day, falling to Rs 4.05 billion in comparison to Rs 4.84 billion on Thursday, the previous trading day.
During the first trading session of this week, over 10 million shares were exchanged through 58,401 transactions.
The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices also recorded declines of 0.57, 0.9, and 0.63 percent, respectively.
Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) became the top gainer of the day, with its share price increasing by 6.55 percent. It was closely followed by Kumari Sabal Yojana (KSY), which saw a rise of 6.49 percent.
Conversely, Upper Syange Hydropower Limited (USHL) became the biggest loser, almost hitting the negative circuit limit.
In terms of turnover, NLG Insurance Company Ltd. (NLG) topped the list, followed by CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC).
Sector-wise, only the Manufacturing and Processing indices ended in green, while the Trading Index saw a 2.97 percent loss.
