The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued its downward trend, falling by 6.32 points, on Tuesday, December 10, to close at 2,669.82.
This marks the fifth consecutive day of the decline.
The daily turnover also declined on Tuesday, totalling over Rs 4.41 billion, compared to over Rs 5.62 billion on the previous day.
In total, over 8 million shares were traded across 52,705 transactions.
All three major indices—the Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float—ended the day in the red, with drops of 0.16 percent, 0.35 percent, and 0.27 percent, respectively.
Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd. (JOSHI) led the gainers’ list, rising by 7.67 percent. It was followed by Khanikhola Hydropower Co. Ltd. (KKHC) and Ganapati Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GMFBS), which gained 7.53 percent and 6.91 percent, respectively.
On the other hand, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) became the biggest loss of the day, with its share price falling by 8.64 percent.
Despite this decline, NRN Infrastructure led the turnover chart, followed by Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd. (SHPC) and Janaki Finance Company Limited (JFL).
Of the 13 NEPSE sub-indices, only four ended the day in green. The Manufacturing and Processing sub-index posted the largest gain of 0.33 percent, while the Life Insurance sub-index saw the biggest loss of 1 percent.
