The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed at 2,690.72 points after gaining 37.13 points in Monday's trading session. The index had gained 56.09 points the previous day, October 6.
Monday’s session also saw an increase in turnover amount to Rs 7.1 billion, compared to Rs 6.14 billion on Sunday. Over 15 million shares were traded on the second trading day of the week in 73,119 transactions.
All major indices closed in the green, with the Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices rising by 1.53 percent, 1.41 percent, and 1.48 percent, respectively.
Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) emerged as the top gainer, with its share price surging by 9.93 percent. Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) followed closely, increasing by 9.68 percent.
In contrast, Eastern Hydropower Limited (EHPL) became the biggest loser of the day, hitting the lower circuit limit.
Chandragiri Hills Limited (CGH) led the turnover chart, followed by NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN).
Sector-wise, all subindices closed positively except for the Finance Index and Manufacturing and Processing Index. The Hotels and Tourism Index recorded the biggest surge of 3.5 percent, while the Manufacturing and Processing Index suffered the highest loss of 1.29 percent.
