After two days of consecutive gains, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index slipped 13.69 points, or 0.51 percent, on Wednesday, June 11, to close at 2,664.47.
The benchmark index had risen by 0.88 percent on Monday and 0.94 percent on Tuesday.
Turnover , too, declined slightly to Rs 9.90 billion on Wednesday from over Rs 10.16 billion the previous day.
Over 22 million shares were traded across 81,703 transactions, down from 23.69 million shares traded in 81,738 transactions on Tuesday.
Among the 248 listed scrips that traded during the session, 77 advanced, 170 declined, and one remained unchanged.
All major sub-indices declined: the Sensitive Index fell by 0.15%, the Float Index dropped by 0.40%, and the Sensitive Float Index slipped by 0.07%.
Pure Energy Limited (PURE) and Synergy Power Development Ltd. (SPDL) stood out as the top gainers of the day, each surging by 9.99%. PURE wrapped up trading at Rs 749.80 per share, while SPDL closed at Rs 428.60.
On the downside, Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd. (SAPDBL) saw the biggest drop, falling by 4.83% to settle at Rs 1,029.46 per share.
Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd. (RADHI) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs 615.7 million. It was followed by Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd. (SHPC) at Rs 592.7 million and Butwal Power Company Limited (BPCL) at Rs 584.8 million.
Among the 13 sectoral indices, only the Hydropower Index managed to close in positive territory, rising by 1.13%. The Others Index registered the sharpest decline, slipping 1.57%.
By the end of the trading session, the total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.43 trillion, down from Rs 4.46 trillion the previous day.
