The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged 0.08 percent, or 2.41 points, on Monday, February 3, closing at 2,730, following a 2.62 percent surge the previous day. This marks the third consecutive day of growth in the index.
Daily turnover, however, dropped, surpassing Rs 11.87 billion, compared to over Rs 12.95 billion on Sunday.
A total of 23,770,348 shares were exchanged through 111,918 transactions on the second trading day of the week.
All major indices continue to end the day in the green. The Sensitive Index rose by 0.27 percent, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index gained 0.15 percent and 0.38 percent, respectively.
Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) and Bhugol Energy Development Company Limited (BEDC), hit the upper circuit limit, becoming the day's top gainers. Sunrise Focused Equity Fund (SFEF) and Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd (SAPDBL) followed, with their share price increasing by 9.02 percent and 8.74 percent respectively.
But, Green Development Bank Ltd. (GRDBL) and River Falls Power Limited (RFPL) became the biggest losers of the day, by hitting the lower circuit limit.
In terms of turnover, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led, followed by Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd (SAPDBL) and Sindhu Bikash Bank Ltd (SINDU).
Of the 13 NEPSE sub-indices, six ended the day in the red. While the Non-Life Insurance Index recorded the highest gain of 0.82 percent, the Finance Index suffered the biggest loss of 1.07 percent.
