The China Cultural Centre (CCC) in Kathmandu hosted a China-Nepal tourism promotion event on Wednesday, December 4. The event was jointly organized by the CCC Kathmandu Office, China’s national flag carrier Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu.
Titled “Nihao China”, the program brought together participants from the business community, the tourism sector, and airlines, among others. On the occasion, Xiao Jiang, Director of the CCC Kathmandu Office, highlighted that the event provided Nepali tourism professionals with a deeper understanding of Chinese tourism resources and policies.
She also noted that the program facilitated the creation of connections, the sharing of information, and the exploration of future collaboration opportunities between Chinese and Nepali tourism counterparts.
The event was attended by over one hundred Nepali travel and ticketing agents, along with representatives from Chinese tourism companies, including Guangxi Guangda Tourism Investment Company, Tibet Yeti International Travel Service, and Sichuan Mingyan Travel Agency.
Director Xiao emphasized that with both Nepal and China boasting unique cultures and abundant tourism resources, the bilateral partnership in tourism would be mutually beneficial. She also mentioned that the upcoming year, 2025, would be significant as it marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal.
Additionally, Mohan Suwal of the China National Tourist Office shared insights into Chinese tourism products, Chinese cuisine, cultural and historical heritage, and other aspects of Chinese tourism.
