December 26: NMB Bank has started issuing chip based Debit, Credit and   International Dollar Card. 

Issuing a press statement, the bank informed that the EMV (Europay, MasterCard, VISA) Chip Cards are embedded with a microprocessor chip that encrypts transaction information, thus are most secured in today’s world. 

"Each time the chip card is used, the transaction data changes using complex algorithm, making it difficult to copy or counterfeit the card. The new chip-enabled cards will improve security of customer transactions when using the card abroad and at home" reads the statement.
