The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petrol and aviation fuel.
While petrol has become dearer by Rs 1 per litre, the price of aviation fuel has been raised by Rs 2 per litre for domestic use, according to a statement from NOC. For the international use, aviation fuel has become dearer by $15 per kilolitre in Kathmandu. In Pokhara and Bhairahawa, it has been fixed at the break even point, reads the statement. The revised prices came into effect at 12 AM on Sunday, December 1.
Following the increase, the price of petrol has reached Rs 157.5 per litre in the first category, Rs 159 in the second category, and Rs 160 in the third category.
NOC categorizes areas as follows: Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj are in the first category; Surkhet and Dang are in the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal are in the third category.
